A tabletop exercise your team will
still be talking about next quarter.
A facilitated tabletop exercise walks your crisis, continuity, or leadership team through a realistic scenario, decision by decision, with a senior practitioner steering the pressure.
Not a slide read. Not a compliance checkbox.
An exercise that validates your plans, sharpens decision-making, and ends with a roadmap your program actually executes.
- Custom-designed from your risks, your plans, and interviews with your people
- Facilitated by practitioners who have run real crises inside Fortune 100 companies
- Virtual, in-person, or hybrid. Starting at $25,000

What We Hear
“We have plans. We’ve never really tested them.”
“The auditors want an exercise every year. I need it to be worth more than the checkbox.”
“Our team is new. Half of them have never worked a crisis together.”
“The last exercise was a lecture. Nobody made a single decision.”
Composite statements from real prospect and client conversations. A good tabletop is a decision-forcing device.
If your people spend the session listening instead of deciding, you bought a briefing, not an exercise.
What Makes Our Tabletops Different
- Custom-built, never off a shelf. Every tabletop starts with your plans, your risk profile, and interviews with the people who would live the scenario. The exercise your team gets exists nowhere else.
- Decision-forcing by design. Structured moves with must-answer questions, facilitated so the room decides, commits, and owns the consequences. Injects arrive as the discussion unfolds, not as a script.
- Facilitated by practitioners. Your facilitator has stood in rooms where this was real. That experience shows up in the follow-up questions, the pressure, and the credibility with your executives.
- It ends as a roadmap. Hot wash, anonymous participant survey, and an after-action report with prioritized, observation-linked recommendations. The exercise is a step in a maturity arc, not an annual event.
How It Works
- Design (4 to 6 weeks). Kickoff, plan review, SME interviews, scenario development, and iteration with your sponsor. You approve the scenario before the room ever sees it.
- The exercise (2 to 4 hours). Facilitated moves, live injects, structured decisions, and a hot wash while it is fresh. Ten to fifty participants, virtual or in person.
- After (2 weeks). Survey, after-action report with prioritized recommendations, and a debrief with your sponsor. You leave knowing exactly what to fix first and what to exercise next.
Scenarios
Any scenario in the library runs as a tabletop: ransomware and data incidents, severe weather and natural catastrophes, workplace violence, product recalls, vendor failures, reputational fires, and the AI-era threats almost nobody has exercised.
Every scenario is customized to your organization.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does a tabletop exercise cost?
Facilitated tabletop exercises start at $25,000, scoped by scenario complexity, participant count, and format. Exercise in a Day® delivers a custom exercise for $7,500, and Exercise in a Box® is $1,799.99 for teams running their own.
How long does a tabletop exercise take?
The exercise itself runs 2 to 4 hours. Design takes 4 to 6 weeks, including plan review, SME interviews, and scenario iteration with your sponsor.
Who should participate?
The team that owns the plan you are testing: your crisis management team, continuity team, or leadership team, typically 10 to 50 people. We help you set the roster during design.
Can a tabletop exercise run virtually?
Yes. We run virtual, in-person, and hybrid tabletops, and virtual delivery often mirrors how your team would actually work a real incident.
Does a tabletop satisfy audit and regulatory requirements?
Yes. We align to ISO 22301, ISO 22361, NIST, FFIEC, and HITRUST expectations, and the after-action report is built to stand up in an audit.
What if we’ve outgrown tabletops?
That is a good problem. When tabletops stop finding new issues, the next step is a functional exercise or a full-scale crisis simulation that tests execution, not just discussion. We will tell you honestly which one you need.
Plans fall to the level of the training behind them.
Fifteen minutes with a practitioner gets you a straight answer
on the right tabletop for your team, the scenario that fits, and the calendar.
